PRIVACY POLICY
Velocity GPS Dashboard, Mariner GPS Dashboard, and the RAMS Cloud
Updated on 20 January 2024
Watch & Navy Ltd. (“Watch & Navy”, "us", "we", or "our"), legally based in The United Kingdom, registered under company number: 11617218 at the address Rodney Chambers, 40 Rodney Street, Liverpool, L1 9AA, United Kingdom), is responsible for the mobile and web applications of the RAMS GPS Dashboard Series: Velocity GPS Dashboard, Mariner GPS Dashboard, and the Cloud Journey Viewer (marinergps.app and velocitygps.app)  hereinafter referred to as the “Apps".

This privacy policy informs you of our policy regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use the Apps, and the choices you have associated with that data. In this privacy policy you will also find information about your rights with regard to your data and how you can make use of those rights.

The privacy policy may at times be edited, because of legislative changes for example. It is therefore advised to consult this privacy policy periodically.
Access to Location Data
Your journey data and recorded routes are processed only on your device and are not collected for any analytics purposes without your consent. The Apps may request access to your location in the background so that you can record your journeys while using other apps. Your GPS is only used while you have an active journey session, and is required in order to record your journey and/or calculate your live speed and statistics.
Data stored in the RAMS Cloud
You can choose store journey data within the RAMS cloud in two ways; private backups and shared (web-linked) journeys:

• Private data (journey records and saved locations)
All journey data that's backed up to the cloud is entirely encrypted with a personal encryption key generated by the app when you sign in for the first time.  We cannot gain access to your personal encryption keys and therefore will not be able to decrypt this data in our database. Private journey records, saved locations, and logbook entries uploaded to the cloud are never used for analytics purposes.

• Shared data
When you share a journey online by creating a weblink (to velocitygps.app or marinergps.app) the app re-uploads the journey data separately to your private records. Shared journeys are not encrypted by default – you must set a password to encrypt them end-to-end so that only your authorised recipients will be able to decrypt the data by entering the correct password. We have also taken measures to ensure that your links will not be picked up by web crawlers/search engine bots to prevent them from being listed in search engine results. Shared journey records, saved locations, and logbook entries uploaded to the cloud are never used for analytics purposes.
