Using GPS at the default 1 second update rate will consume a lot of battery power very quickly. Faster intervals ensure that your live speed can be displayed as accurately as possible. We recommend keeping your device plugged in to an outlet or portable battery.
-
In order to measure your speed accurately, RAMS Dashboards will wait for a high-accuracy signal before your journey can start.
-
This depends on your device, surroundings, and weather conditions. Accuracy to 3 metes is as high as most smartphones can achieve. Rain, cloudy weather, and obstacles will affect GPS accuracy.
-
Weather data is provided from the closest weather station to your location, via the OpenWeatherMap API.
-
Without an internet connection, you can still record journeys while GPS is enabled on your device. Online weather information, cloud sync and maps will not be available while you're offline.
